PROSPECT HEIGHTS – Neighborhood has a new Persian restaurant called Sofreh, named after a traditional fabric used as a backdrop for food displays at festive celebrations. The restaurant at 75 St. Marks Ave. was named by chef Nasim Alikhani, who came from Iran to New York in 1983, according to Eater.
And the food looks great according to Instagram:
Alikhani writes on the restaurant’s blog that she moved from Iran to New York in 1983 and has been inspired by the cooking of the women in her family. She has experience in kitchens throughout New York and has catering experience as well.
